(2015) The Ballad of Yorkley Court by Lloyd/Goldsmith/Aldridge

Yorkley Court Community Farm was a eco-community farm occupying some derelict land in Herefordshire back in 2012, who were brutally evicted a few years later after all sorts of dodgy legal shenanigans.

Vice Magazine has an excellent article about it here – https://www.vice.com/en/article/this-is-what-its-like-to-farm-under-police-surveillance/ and another overview can be found here – https://web.archive.org/web/20210614221225/https://feedingbodyandsoul.com/2016/07/20/yorkley-court-community-farm/ more here – https://stroat-gloucestershire.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/yorkley-court-survival-001.pdf and here – https://yorkleycourt.wordpress.com/

Well known Bristol folk duo Jimmy Aldridge and Sid Goldsmith collaborated with Humphrey Lloyd to create this song about the project, more background and lyrics can be found here – https://www.jimmyandsidduo.com/copy-of-lyrics

Kestrel Morton, one of the residents of the community also shared these two other songs which were written about the project:
